About the Role:

We are seeking a Vice President of Transmission Regulatory to join our team in St. Louis, MO. In this role, you will be responsible for molding and driving the company’s strategic regulatory direction at federal, regional, and state levels. As the Vice President, you will lead efforts to navigate complex regulatory environments, influence key stakeholders, and advocate for the company’s competitive transmission interests. Your leadership will be essential in guiding the company through regulatory challenges and opportunities, ensuring our regulatory strategies align with overall business objectives.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Communicate externally with industry leaders at RTOs/ISOs, regulators, independent transmission competitors, utilities, and other stakeholders. Represent the company at federal, regional, and state level organizations, events, and conferences.
  • Collaborate internally with development, operations, legal, and policy teams to ensure regulatory strategies are in sync with business goals. Foster seamless coordination and communication across the organization to drive unified regulatory advocacy.
  • Supervise the regulatory and rates group. The regulatory group advocates for competitive transmission, tracts opportunities for growth, and identifies initiatives relevant to LS Power’s operating utilities. The rates group is responsible for transmission rate recovery at FERC and the Texas PUC.
  • Oversee the development of formal and informal communications, including regulatory filings, public testimonies, and policy briefs.
  • Develop and implement a regulatory strategy that aligns with the company’s long-term business objectives. Advocate for the company’s positions on critical regulatory issues.
  • Monitor emerging regulatory trends, market developments, and policy changes. Provide thought leadership on potential impacts and opportunities for the company, advising the executive team on strategic responses.

Qualifications

  • Hold a college degree in related field, advanced degree preferred.
  • Have a minimum of 15 years of related professional experience, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership role.
  • Have a proven track record of successful advocacy in complex regulatory environments, particularly in the competitive energy sector.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Have industry and FERC knowledge and experience particularly with one or more RTO/ISO areas.
  • Able to multi-task and effectively manage multiple assignments occasionally under time constraints
  • Are a strategic thinker with a proactive approach to problem-solving and can anticipate and navigate regulatory challenges.
  • Are comfortable with 10%-20% travel
