Approximately 2,700 MW of its operations are located in the U.S., across NYISO, MISO, PJM, ERCOT and CAISO markets, with the remaining 300 MW located in Canada. Clearlight Energy focuses on providing operational excellence to supply critical energy capacity and meet growing demand. Additionally, it has a 1,200 MW development pipeline of additional renewable resources to support grid reliability and decarbonization.

 

Compensation

The salary for this role is $120,000 - $160,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in (Location).  This salary range may also be modified in the future.

 

About the Role:

This position will be responsible for maintaining and developing the existing software platform used by the energy trading team. This is a hands-on, technical role in a highly-collaborative team. Responsibilities will include development of software new and old across many aspects of our business. The focus of the role will be data engineering and report building/maintaining for energy, commodity, and business data. The right candidate will be capable of architecting, designing, implementing, and maintaining data pipelines from a large variety of data sources.

Responsibilities

What you will do…

  • Build and maintain cloud native (e.g. Azure, AWS) solutions using tools and frameworks including but not limited to python/Git/Conda/Docker/Excel/PowerBI on Windows and Linux platforms.
  • Collaborate with the trading team to identify future needs and implement system solutions
  • Support business analysis, product design, data engineering, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance
  • Interact with third-party data providers to help implement in-house analytical tools to support trading decisions
  • Document existing process/infrastructure setups; schedule regular meetings with relevant business group to showcase new system capabilities

Qualifications

We want you on our team because you…

  • Have 3 years of experience
  • Familiar with troubleshooting methodologies and capable of engaging end-users to support and enhance custom built solutions.
  • Can maintain data pipelines and analytical dashboards built on Microsoft Power BI service
  • Are familiar with running services on Linux / in the cloud that are securely accessible from within a corporate network
  • Ability to maintain an internal Git repository and support user python environments
  • Have worked with Snowflake

Ideally, you also have…

  • Familiarity with commonly traded financial products, including Swaps, Futures and PPAs
  • Familiarity with the Commodity Futures market, with focus on North American Power
