Overview

As part of the Proposal Department at OPTERRA, the Proposal Coordinator plays an important role in supporting the organization's ability to provide persuasive responses to our potential customers. This role is instrumental in supporting Business Development and Operations teams in delivering consistent, well-articulated, and strategic responses that support OPTERRA’s brand message while increasing the likelihood of being awarded new opportunities.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Proposal Department with the proposal process, focused on writing and editing content.
  • Support the Proposal Department in drafting narrative for RFxs.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance of the proposal content library.
  • Research, outline, write, and edit new and existing content in the content library.
  • Collaborate with internal SMEs to revise and develop content.
  • Edit documents for grammar, style, and content.
  • Maintain the resume library and project profile library.
  • Provide general administrative support to the Proposal Department as necessary.
  • Develop a deep knowledge of the energy industry, OPTERRA’s unique differentiators, and the competitive landscape.

  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail while consistently prioritizing and completing tasks ahead of deadlines.
  • Ability to execute multiple concurrent high-quality deliverables with rapid deadlines.
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams) and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Experience for an energy, AEC, or similar firm a plus.
  • APMP Foundation-level certification is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Responsive or other proposal automation software is not required but preferred.

Additional Details

  • This role is eligible for our hybrid work policy.
  • Must be available to travel domestically up to 10% of the time and with the need for some overnight trips.
  • Must be willing and able to comply with all OPTERRA ethics and safety policies.
  • For this position, you must have evidence of right to work in the U.S. There is no employer sponsorship of U.S. residency or work authorization with this role.

Compensation

Salary Range: $55,300-$84,755

 

OPTERRA complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual salary offered may vary depending on geography, experience, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. 

 

In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan.

 

Qualifications

 

Bachelor's degree in related field (Marketing, Journalism, Communication, English, etc.) and 1+ years of professional writing experience or an associate’s degree in related field and 3+ years of professional writing experience. Proposal management experience a plus.
