About the Role:

The Project Engineer (Construction) plays a key role in supporting the successful management of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects. This position assists the Construction Manager and EPC Lead with Contractor coordination, advising on constructability and construction risks, Contractor progress monitoring, schedule management, managing vendor and construction field-related documents, and reviewing and negotiating Contractor change orders and other commercial support throughout the construction phase.

 

The role is primarily office-based with regular visits to the project site, but may be fully field-based depending on project needs.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Support the Construction Manager and EPC Lead with day-to-day project management and coordination activities.
  • Create, maintain, and update the integrated construction schedule, consolidating inputs from multiple project participants.
  • Track and analyze schedule risks for each forecast update and communicate potential impacts to project leadership.
  • Manage field-related documentation and control key project information, including:
    • RFI (Request for Information) logs
    • Issue and NCR (Non-Conformance Report) logs
    • IFC (Issued for Construction) drawings and document control
    • Contractor submittals and approvals
    • Permit-related documentation
  • Maintain organized systems for information management to ensure accuracy, version control, and timely distribution.
  • Track and compile data for potential change orders and assist with supporting documentation.
  • Provide input on contractor performance, including schedule compliance and progress reporting.
  • Identify and communicate potential risks, opportunities, and scope deviations to the Construction Manager and EPC Lead.
  • Draft project contract notices and correspondence for management review.
  • Support commercial management by providing factual, well-documented data to facilitate contract change management.
  • Contribute to regular project reporting and updates as needed.

Qualifications

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (preferred).
  • Bring at least 3 years of experience in construction and/or project management, or an EPC project coordination role.
  • Are highly organized and detail-oriented, with excellent documentation and follow-up skills.
  • Are proficient in scheduling and productivity tools such as Primavera P6 and/or MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Understand construction documentation, submittal processes, and change order workflows.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally across teams, both in the office and in the field.
  • Excel at managing multiple priorities in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Take ownership and achieve goals by engaging in and advancing a collaborative, solutions-focused culture.
  • Are willing to travel to project sites as needed.
