Compensation

The salary range for this role is $120,000 – $135,000, which we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. This role is primarily based in New Jersey, with occasional travel to the New York office as business needs require. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range, and this range may be modified in the future.

 

About the Role:

We are seeking a Family Office Operations Manager (Accounting Focus) to support the financial operations of our family office across multiple entities. This is a hands-on leadership role for a seasoned accounting professional who can balance detailed execution with team oversight and stakeholder communication. The ideal candidate is a working manager within a single-family office with strong technical accounting skills, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to operate confidently in a high-expectation, high-discretion environment. This role serves as a key liaison between the Director of Family Office and junior accounting staff, as well as external advisors.

Responsibilities


What you will do:

  • Oversee and execute accounting operations across multiple family office entities
  • Prepare, review, and manage monthly close activities, journal entries, and reconciliations
  • Develop, review, and maintain working paper packages, with a strong understanding of underlying financial activity
  • Prepare financial summaries, analyses, and presentation materials to support leadership and family stakeholders
  • Manage cash flow, banking activity, and liquidity across entities
  • Coordinate with external accountants, tax advisors, and legal partners
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to internal controls and best practices
  • Lead, coach, and review the work of two direct reports, providing ongoing guidance and development
  • Act as a day-to-day problem solver and escalation point for accounting and operational matters
  • Partner closely with the Director of Family Office on ad hoc projects and evolving priorities

Qualifications

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance, with a Master’s degree and/or CPA strongly preferred.
  • Bring 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years within a complex multi-entity family office.
  • Have a working knowledge of public financial markets and alternative investments including private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital, etc.
  • Have people management experience and enjoy coaching, reviewing, and developing junior team members.
  • Possess exceptional attention to detail and take pride in accuracy and well-organized work
  • Are a strong communicator who can engage effectively with senior leaders, external partners, and junior staff.
  • Are resilient and able to operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-expectation environment while maintaining professionalism and discretion.
  • Are comfortable rolling up your sleeves as a working manager, balancing hands-on execution with oversight.
  • Have sound judgment, a high level of integrity, and the ability to handle confidential information with care.
  • Can translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insights for non-financial audiences.
