About the Team

The Transmission Asset Management team is responsible for optimizing the performance, reliability, and long-term value of transmission infrastructure. We use data-driven analysis and risk-based decision-making to prioritize investments and ensure the safe and efficient operation of critical grid assets.

 

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and analytical Asset Management Intern to support our Transmission Asset Management team. This role provides hands-on exposure to high-voltage transmission assets, long-term infrastructure planning, and data-driven investment decision-making. The intern will assist in evaluating asset performance, supporting capital planning processes, and contributing to reliability and risk analysis initiatives.

 

This position offers valuable experience at the intersection of engineering, data analytics, and infrastructure strategy within the electric transmission sector.

Responsibilities

What you will do

  • Support analysis of transmission asset performance, condition, and lifecycle risk
  • Assist in development and refinement of long-term capital investment plans
  • Analyze maintenance and inspection data to identify trends and reliability risks
  • Contribute to asset health modeling and risk prioritization frameworks
  • Support cost-benefit analysis and business case development for capital projects
  • Assist in preparing internal reports and presentations for leadership
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, operations, finance, and regulatory teams
  • Maintain and organize asset data within asset management and tracking systems

 

Qualifications

  • Are currently completing your sophomore year and pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in one of the following fields:
    • Electrical Engineering
    • Mechanical Engineering
    • Civil Engineering
    • Industrial Engineering
    • Data Analytics / Applied Mathematics
    • Finance with an interest in power systems
  • Familiar with the fundamentals of electric transmission systems, including substations, transmission lines, transformers, and breakers
  • Knowledgeable about basic power system fundamentals and grid reliability concepts
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookup functions, and basic modeling
  • Comfortable working with data analysis tools such as Python, R, or MATLAB (preferred)
  • Familiar with visualization tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms (preferred)
  • Interested in or have exposure to asset management systems (SAP, Maximo) or GIS platforms
  • A strong analytical thinker with well-developed problem-solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy when working with data and technical information
  • Able to interpret technical information and translate it into clear, actionable insights
  • A clear communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team environment
  • Curious and interested in infrastructure investment, grid reliability, and long- term planning within the power industry
