Compensation

The salary for this role is $95,000-$110,000. This is the range that we in good faith anticipate relying on when setting wages for this position. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in New Jersey.  This salary range may also be modified in the future.

 

 

About the Role:

The Senior Tax Associate will be part of the New Jersey based team and directly work with the Tax Managers and Sr. Vice President of Tax.  This role will have exposure to a combination of business entities operating in the traditional & renewable energy and private equity funds. The position provides for potential long term career advancement and will encompass numerous facets of tax compliance, planning, and research in a dynamic organization with a proven track record of growth and expansion.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

The Senior Tax Associate position responsibilities include:

  • Preparation and/or review of domestic federal and state income tax workpapers utilized for estimated tax payments, investor tax projections, and timely tax filings of returns and reports
  • Aspects of tax compliance, which vary based on assignments, may include preparation or review of tax basis trial balances, incentive carry waterfalls, depreciation calculations, federal and state tax withholding, E&P adjustments, ASC 740 income tax provisions, etc.
  • Coordinating with outside tax firms regarding review comments of prepared tax returns and interacting for research questions and projects
  • Identification, research and analysis of tax technical issues
  • Preparing written memos to document tax positions and memorialize meeting notes

 

Qualifications

We want you on our team because you…

  • Have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related business field (advanced degree and/or CPA preferred)
  • Bring 2+ years of experience in partnership taxation, with public accounting experience as a plus
  • Have exposure to private equity funds and/or ASC 740 (a plus)
  • Demonstrate strong project management skills along with excellent written and verbal communication
  • Possess intermediate Excel skills, including working with formulas and navigating complex workbooks
  • Have strong research skills and are comfortable using multiple resource platforms
  • Are highly organized with a strong work ethic and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines

 

Ideally, you also have

  • Have the ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively within a team environment
  • Are comfortable interfacing with external tax advisors, internal departments, and investors
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of tax and financial accounting concepts
