About the Role:

We are seeking a Senior Regulatory Analyst to join a high‑impact team focused on wholesale electricity market policy across North America. This role goes beyond traditional regulatory compliance, with a focus on translating complex policy developments into actionable business insights that inform investment decisions and commercial strategy.

In addition to strong analytical capabilities, this role requires active engagement with external stakeholders, including Regional Transmission Organizations (RTOs), regulators, and other industry participants. The Senior Regulatory Analyst will represent LS Power in stakeholder processes, build relationships across the market, and help shape the company’s position on key regulatory developments.

This is a cross‑functional and externally facing role, working closely with asset management, trading, and development teams while also establishing credibility and influence with market operators and peer organizations.

Responsibilities

What you will do:

  • Monitor and actively participate in stakeholder proceedings across RTOs/ISOs, including PJM, MISO, SPP, NYISO, ISO-NE, CAISO, and ERCOT
  • Develop and maintain relationships with RTO stakeholders, regulators, and other IPPs to strengthen LS Power’s market presence and influence
  • Represent LS Power in working groups and industry discussions, contributing to policy development and advocacy efforts
  • Analyze regulatory proposals and rule changes, translating them into clear assessments of commercial and investment implications
  • Advise development, asset management, and trading teams on regulatory developments that impact portfolio strategy and asset performance
  • Prepare internal briefings and materials for senior leadership linking policy developments to business strategy
  • Support the development of company positions and stakeholder engagement strategies across multiple markets
  • Coordinate with external consultants and industry partners, integrating their insights into LS Power’s regulatory and commercial strategy
  • Develop frameworks to assess how market rule changes impact asset economics, competitive positioning, and future investment opportunities

Qualifications

We want you on our team because you…

  • Think critically about policy and understand how regulatory decisions impact market participants and asset economics
  • Are comfortable engaging externally and can build relationships with RTOs, regulators, and industry peers
  • Communicate clearly and confidently across both internal and external audiences
  • Can translate complex regulatory concepts into actionable business insights
  • Are self‑directed and able to manage multiple markets and priorities concurrently
  • Bring strong judgment and understand the “so what” behind regulatory developments

Ideally, you have

  • Bachelor’s degree required (advanced degree in economics, public policy, engineering, or law preferred)
  • 5+ years of experience in wholesale electricity markets, energy policy, utility regulation, or a related field
  • Direct experience engaging with RTO/ISO stakeholder processes and FERC proceedings
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with industry participants, including RTO staff, regulators, and IPPs
  • Strong understanding of power markets, market design, and regulatory frameworks
  • Experience supporting or advising commercial, development, or trading teams in an energy organization
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, including experience with financial modeling or quantitative analysis
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to influence internal and external stakeholders
